My brief Adoption Story

Ok, here it is! This is the first ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT of my 4-week Adoption Campaign. I thought it would be the perfect idea to kick off my campaign with the story none other than my own. I think many of you already know some of my story, but I wanted to share a little more.

My adoption was an international/out of country one. At just a few days old I was left at a tax office by my birth parents due to the “One Child Policy” China had in place during that time. If you didn’t already know, this policy was implemented to control the rapidly increasing population that was happening during that time. This policy was then repealed in 2015 allowing families to have two children instead of one. I would be lying if I didn’t say I was curious what would have happened if the one child policy wasn’t a thing. Despite that curiosity, I am very thankful for where I am now and all that I have been given thanks to adoption.

My parents came to Chongqing in January to adopt me on the 3rd. After I was adopted, I got to see pandas for the first time at the zoo! Maybe that early exposure to the pandas is the reason why I love pandas so much. ;)

That is the basics of my adoption story. I wanted to start out basic because I still have basically a lifetime to share my story through the this platform and so many different aspects about it too! I just wanted to give you all a taste of what is in store every Sunday and I hope that you check back every week!
