Today marks the end of Purim! Wait.... what is Purim? Well, it started last night and it will end tonight, but if you’re in Jerusalem you’re living it up until tomorrow. 🥳🎉
A long time ago, Haman’s plot “to destroy, kill, and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day” was declared. Obviously this was a big problem for the Jewish people especially in ancient Persia. However, they overcame this and became stronger than ever!
Now, the Jewish celebrate how the ancient Jews were able to surmount Haman with Purim. They celebrate with a BIG festival with Megillah readings, food, gifts, you name it.
Some infamous foods eaten on this day are Mushroom and Potato Dumplings.
This holiday is supposedly one of the most joyous holidays in the Jewish religion which I think is really cool. Purim consists of some pretty cool costumes (kind of like Halloween).
I hoped you learned something in this quick, but informational post. Much love everyone!
